FINALLY!! And the American Idol audiences breathed a collective sigh of relief!!

American Idol - Week 2

Last week we saw Lindsay Cardineli leave us. I will miss that smokey, sultry voice, but alas it was her time to go.

This week, almost to a person, the performances were right up at the TOP!!! Obviously the judges agreed with me as was evidenced by their liberal use of my current favorite word "brilliant!" At the end of the show, Simon said that two people outsang everyone else! He was right!!! Carrie and Jessica ripped it up!! They were closely followed by Scott, Nikko and Bo. Of course, how can you leave Vonzell out of that group!

And so, without further ado, here's my recap:

Anthony Federov - I Knew You Were Waiting For Me

He reminded me less of Clay Aiken (who he is constantly compared to) and more of Richard Marx. The boy is pretty good and let's be honest, it's hard to knock someone with a story like his. He's got some more weeks in him.

Carrie Underwood - Alone

Ummmm...what to say about this girl with a great big voice (and matching hair)!! I've watched her performance like 6 times now and I am still wanting more. When she looked directly at me with those big eyes asking how she was going to get me alone I had a few naughtly little thoughts run through my head!!! I could have eaten her up with a spoon right then. Geez...am I gushing?! I hope so!!! Simon said she was the person to beat!! BINGO!!!

Scott Savol - Against All Odds

What a perfect song title for this guy!!! He continually beats the odds!! I took a look and liked what I saw!! Randy was right...this guy was "on and poppin!" He's stepping up his game!!! Bring it on BIG BOY!!

Bo Bice - Time In A Bottle

This rocker was born on the stage with a mic in his hand!! Rock not really my genre, but this guy's got me hooked!! And who would have thunk it...the crooner thing works too!!

Nikko Smith - Incomplete

Absolutely nothing "imcomplete" about this performance. I honestly wanted to be standing next to Paula as she danced with her arms over her head!! Ryan said he "broke down the wall!" Darn tootin!!! I'm glad Nikko's back (who cares if his dad paid Mario to leave the show)!!!

Vonzell Solomon - Best Of My Love

Simon was right...she will be remembered for that performance!!! HOT! HOT!! HOT!!!

Constantine Maroulis - I Think I Love You

Rocker meets the Partridge Family. This guy keeps growing on me. While I enjoyed the performance, Simon was right, it was rather like "buying a guard dog and getting a poodle with a leather jacket." But, it was FUN! I don't think he's in danger of going home...yet!

Nadia Turner - Time After Time

She told us she likes "artsy fartsy" kind of music. Well, Cyndi Lauper is pretty well an artsy, fartsy kind of musician and so, it was probably the best choice she could have made out of the 900+ songs she had to choose from. Look, we all know Nadia is damn good. This probably wasn't her best week, but she gets mad points for that hair!!!

Mikalah Gordon - Love Will Lead You Back

Look, if you are going to sing Taylor Dayne and you have all that Mikalah "energy", then there are better choices than Love Will Lead You Back! I hit the fast-forward button about midway through! She was a complete wreck (at least she's been consistent recently)!!! If she thought this was the number to keep her from that "fabulous view" of the audience she had last week, then she's about as clairavoyant as that phsychic during the auditions who said she would be in the top ten (oh wait, turns out, according to momma, she read the tea leaves wrong). "You're outta here!!!!"

Anwar Robinson - Ain't Nobody

Sometimes I like him, and then other times not so much. At least his hair looked good this week. Did he do something different?

Jessica Sierra - Total Eclipse Of The Heart

Ummmm...HOT! HOT!! HOT!!! Ain't nothing "fallin apart" about this chick!!! She's definately in a "powder keg, given off sparks!"

As there was a voting glitch last night, NO votes counted! Make sure you watch tonight and then vote!!! Brilliant week you guys!!!
