Lesson 6 - Your best ain't always good enough

Bucky Covington

Y'all know I really liked this guy from Raleigh, North Carolina a lot. Not because he was the best singer or performer because he wasn't and isn't. But there was something about his raw, unadulterated voice that endeared him to me...even when I couldn't understand what the hell he was saying (which was most of the time). Honestly, he got farther in the competition that perhaps he should have and that's ok...heck, one has to look no further than Ace Young to see that sometimes there are other factors keeping a contestant around longer than their talent should allow.

I am sorry to see him go, but it was the right time. His best wasn't enough to win the thing. Sure, every week it will be harder and harder to see the ones I really like start to leave but that's part of the game. Deal with it! It ain't like Bucky's going back to painting cars!
